Home-Web Designs is the brainchild of a former wood and metal craft artisan who knows the limitations of the direct sales experience. Our offer of exclusive web development services for specialty shop owners and the individual artists who often support them is the result of about 25 years of history working within what one might call the craft workers counter-culture.
Over the years we've known a lot of struggling artists, jewelers, metal-smiths, wood carvers, and sculptors who are barely making a living working at flea markets, local festivals and crafts fair events. We've seen how the owners of small retail shops, who largely depend upon word of mouth or expensive classifed advertizing and often see very few new faces coming thru their doors, can be forced to close their businesses because the large retailers strip away their customer base.
As artisans ourselves, we've experienced the long hours working our booth, talking to all the people who look at our products and say "OOOhh that's beautiful", and then walk over to the low priced bulk seller and buy something. We understand the hundreds of hours of work involved and know that the rising cost of materials and tools, and the sometimes very high cost of renting your ten by ten space only to have low or no sales can be discouraging.
In essence we're just a couple of down-home folks with some web design skills, and a desire to provide an affordable online marketing solution to complement your bottom line.
