Home-Web Designs is the brainchild of a former wood and metal craft artisan who knows the limitations of the direct sales experience. Our offer of exclusive web development services for specialty shop owners, who depend upon word of mouth or expensive classifed advertizing, and who often see very few new customers coming thru their doors. And for the individual artist selling at craft shows, flea markets or consignment sales venues. Is the result of about 20 years of history working within what one might call the craft workers counter-culture.
In essence we're just a couple of local folks with some web design skills, and a desire to provide an affordable online marketing solution to complement your bottom line. Something we think is a great idea because many small businesses and individuals are excluded from this type of media exposure due to limited cash flow.
Over the years we've known a lot of struggling artists, jewelers, metalsmiths, wood carvers, and sculptors who are barely making a living working at gem or craft shows, local festivals and crafts fair events, or by selling their products on consignment at small retail shops.
As artisans ourselves we've experienced the long hours working our booth, talking to lots of people who look at our products and say "OOOhh that's beautiful", and then walk over to the low priced bulk seller and buy something.
We understand the hundreds of hours of work involved. Know that the rising cost of materials and tools, and that the sometimes very high cost of renting your ten by ten space only to have low or no sales can be discouraging. And we've decided to make it easier.
